A Challenge For Myself

6 WEEK CHALLENGE: MAY 20, 2019 – JUNE 28, 2019

This is my own personal challenge from me to me. I want to become more introspective on my life over the next few months. I am moving onto the final pages of this chapter in my life, and I want to finish strong and come out with an understanding of who I am.

I will be basically in solitude for 6 weeks from May 20 – June 28, and I am challenging myself to think more about who I am, what makes me happy, what drives me, where I want to go in life, how I want to get there, and who I want to bring along the way. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking time to enjoy being alone and remembering who you are when others aren’t around.

Things that I want to try to do during the 6 weeks (that hopefully carry on beyond then):

  1. Yoga: I’d like to try and do yoga every day. Even if I am just stretching out for 15 minutes at the end of the day, I want to bring about that peace with myself
  2. Meditation: I want to begin and end every day with a 5 minute meditation where I focus on what I want to accomplish that day and how I want to do it, and then about what I did achieve and how I can move forward with my goals.
  3. Bullet Journal: I’d like to try and list what I have done each day in a bullet journal. It doesn’t have to be fancy and it doesn’t have to be long, but I want to list in each entry 1 thing I learned, 1 thing I want to learn more about, any exercise or activities I did that day, a record of my general thoughts throughout the day (mood scale), one compliment (no repeats!), and anything else that may come to mind.
  4. Reading: I want to read at least 2 books about literally anything at all.
  5. Education: I want to review one interesting scenario each week and document what I learned about it. (Can be from an assignment.)
  6. WordPress: I’d like to come back here once a week or so to check in with my goals.
  7. Mom’s Gift: You know what this one is.

I think these are attainable, and I think they follow the SMART method as well. It’s not unreasonable to try and challenge yourself to something new and fun, and spelling it all out makes it more real. Maybe I won’t get a 100%, but I hope to get at least an 80% on these goals. We’ll find out if I check back in during my first week of the challenge. So long.
